People heal through connection. Addiction and mental health struggles are rooted in disconnection: from self, from others, from the body, from meaning, from the world around us. We help people reconnect at every level we can reach.

Our Philosophy: Healing Through Connection

Our approach focuses on helping people reconnect at every level we can meaningfully support. That philosophy shapes everything we do, from clinical programming and family involvement to staff culture and experiential care. And while our work is deeply relational, it is also grounded in accountability. We measure outcomes, evaluate effectiveness, and continue refining our model to ensure the care we provide is both compassionate and clinically sound.

Integrated Co-Occurring Care in Pennsylvannia

Most people who come through our doors are not experiencing a single challenge in isolation.  Substance use, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, chronic stress, and relationship struggles are often deeply intertwined. Over time, these experiences become increasingly interconnected, making it difficult to separate one from another. In some treatment settings, these concerns are addressed through separate tracks or disconnected services. Addiction treatment may happen in one place, psychiatric care in another, and trauma work somewhere else in the process. Our approach is different. We treat the whole person through one integrated program and one collaborative treatment team. Whatever combination of experiences brought someone here, we approach them as interconnected parts of a larger story rather than isolated diagnoses to be treated separately.

Our Model of Care

Most treatment centers have groups. BriteLife has a model. Those are not the same thing. Healing rarely happens through a single insight or intervention. It happens through repetition, practice, and experience, reinforced across enough relationships and modalities that the same core principles begin to compound. When care is organized around a coherent model instead of a collection of disconnected services, concepts build on each other, skills carry across settings, and insight becomes lived experience.

Our model is six arcs, each answering a question a person in recovery has to work through in order. Foundation is learning to feel what you feel without being overwhelmed by it. Connection asks whether you can be seen without hiding. Direction takes on what you actually want your life to be about. Recovery Skills builds the response to old coping when things get hard. Integration is where you grieve what you lost and set boundaries around what you keep. Transformation is how you forgive, create, and carry this forward.Insurance:

Frequently asked questions

How long is rehab at BriteLife Hanover?
Medical detox typically runs 5 to 7 days. Residential treatment averages 28 days, with 30 days recommended for comprehensive care. Your exact length of stay depends on your individual clinical needs, and your treatment team reviews it with you throughout your stay rather than holding you to a fixed number set on day one.
We accept most major insurance plans, including BlueCross BlueShield, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Anthem, Tricare, Optum, and Magellan. Our admissions team can verify your specific benefits at no cost. Call (866) 470-1464 or use our 60-second online insurance checker. It is free, confidential, and HIPAA secure.
Often, yes. Our admissions line is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and detox services run every day. Depending on bed availability and your clinical needs, our team can frequently arrange same-day or next-day admission. If you are ready now, call and we will tell you honestly what is possible today.
Yes. Our campus sits in south-central Pennsylvania near the Maryland line, within easy reach of York, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Gettysburg, and the greater Baltimore area, and accessible from farther out by car or a short flight. Many clients choose to travel because distance from the people, places, and routines tied to active use makes early recovery easier. Our admissions team helps coordinate arrival timing and intake paperwork before you get here.
Yes. Substance use and mental health conditions frequently coexist and influence each other, so we treat them together through one integrated program rather than as separate tracks handled by separate teams. Medical, psychiatric, clinical, and wellness services sit on one collaborative team, with trauma-informed principles integrated throughout. Our Hanover campus also offers specialized inpatient mental health programming for conditions such as depression and anxiety.
Residential care is structured but not rigid. You will have individual therapy twice weekly and multiple group sessions daily, adding up to more than 32 hours of group time per week. Group is where most of the work happens, which is why we cap groups at 16 and maintain an 8:1 clinician ratio and 16:1 case manager ratio. Our clinicians follow strong curricula, including a 14-module Nature-Informed Therapy program, but they will set the manual aside when something real needs attention in the room.
Located at 544 Iron Ridge Road, our campus houses co-ed detox and residential treatment across multiple buildings on expansive grounds. It features spacious group therapy rooms, an auditorium for larger gatherings, comfortable common areas, and outdoor space for recreation and nature-based programming. BriteLife Hanover is accredited by The Joint Commission, LegitScript certified, and licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs.
Discharge planning begins on day one, not in your final week. Your case manager works with clinical staff to build an individualized continuing care plan, which may include referrals for ongoing therapy, sober living, and community resources. You also join our alumni program, which keeps you connected to the people and practices that supported you here.
